The Story of Thabit Ibn Qais And His Loud Voice

September 2, 2018 by admin

Thabit ibn Qays was one of the great companions of Prophet Mohammed (pbuh). His normal voice was louder than usual compared to others. Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) uses him to deliver his messages to others due to his loud voice.
One day, he remained home all the time and kept crying. People came to him and asked about his isolation in his house. Thabit replied to them: “Ayat were revealed and afraid if I am the one meant in these ayats!”.
(2) O you who have believed, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet or be loud to him in speech like the loudness of some of you to others, lest your deeds become worthless while you perceive not.
The other companions went to the Messenger Mohammed (pbuh) to tell him about what Thabit said. The Messenger Mohammed (pbuh) told them to go back and tell Thabit that he is one of the Paradise people.

The martyrdom of Thaben bin Qais

During the time of Khilafa of Abu Baker (ra). The Muslims were busy fighting the army of apostasy.  During the battle of Yamama, Thabit bin Qais was fighting with his friend.

The fight intensified with apostates, so Thabit said to his friend: “We were not fighting like this with Prophet Mohammed (pbuh)”. Thabit dig a hole for him and his friend in the battler field, so they not to retreat. They kept fighting until both were martyred in the battle (ra).

He is among the people of Janna (paradise) as the messenger Mohammed (pbuh) told us.
