The reason for the revelation Surat Al-Kawthar, as seen by Abdullah bin Abbas – the most correct novel:
It was said that it was reveled in Al-Aas ibn Wael, that he saw the Messenger of Allah – peace be upon him come out of the Masjid when he was entering, so they met at the door, so they spoke while some of Quraish big heads were setting inside the Masjid.
When Al-As Ibn Wael entered the Masjid, Quraish people asked him: “To whom you were talking to?” Then he said: “To that cut off”, he meant the Prophet PBUH. At that time, the Prophet’s son was recently passed away, and Quraish used to call the man with no sons as “Cut Off”. Then Allah SWT reveled Surat Al Kawther:
The explanation of Sura shows us a high level of greatness from Allah SWT to his Prophet. Shows Allah love for his messenger by rewarding him the River Of Kawther. On the other hand, Allah responds to those who attack the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) with rudeness and blasphemy.
The Sura ends with “إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ الْأَبْتَرُ” which interpreted as your enemy is the one who is cut off of goodness in this life and hereafter.
Allah is defending those who believe, for whatever the unbelievers do, the circle of evil will revolve on them alone. And all their evil planning and lie in wait for people of truth are in vain.
