Most of the new Muslims from Quraish were the poorest, weakest and needy people. The infields and big heads of Quraish came to the Prophet (pbuh) to dispute with him about the call to Islam. So they said: “O Mohammed, if the matter you came us to with and your call to this religion is true, would have not our weakest and poorest needy people have became believers.
One day Hercules asked Abu Sufyan about the type of Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) followers, Abu Sufyan said: “Most of them are the weak people”. Then Hercules said: “The weak – poor people are the most followers of all other Prophets”.
Some of Quraish infields were making excuses not to become Muslims, because of some of the weak – poor people who became Muslims like: Bilal Al Habashi – Ammar Ib Yasser.
Allah (swt) tells us in the following aya about what they have said:
(11) And those who disbelieve say of those who believe, “If it had [truly] been good, they would not have preceded us to it.” And when they are not guided by it, they will say, “This is an ancient falsehood.”
