ِAllah (swt) describes some of the Hypocrites in Madian. Those Hypocrites were attending the settings of Zuker (Remembering Allah (swt)) and go to the Masjids with others.
They are Almunafiqun. Their hearts have no Imman, even thought they pray with the Prophet Mohammed (pbuh). They pray hypocrisy to get some of the benefits or not to get hurt by others if they remain non-muslims.
When the speech of Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) ends, they go out and tell the other true knowledgable companions: “What he just said? We didn’t understand him, we didn’t benefit from his speech!”. They want to cast doubt in the hearts of the people of faith. Thus Allah (swt) says in another Aya about Almunafiqun:
(145) Indeed, the hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of the Fire – and never will you find for them a helper
Then Allah (swt) revealed the following:
(16) And among them, [O Muhammad], are those who listen to you, until when they depart from you, they say to those who were given knowledge, “What has he said just now?” Those are the ones of whom Allah has sealed over their hearts and who have followed their [own] desires.
