Al Suffah
It is a place located in the rear side of Al Masjid Al Nabawi. The Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) ordered that this area to be covered by palm leaves to provide shade.
Ashab Al Suffah
Those who are unmarried, have no homes, no money or relatives among the migrants that migrated to Madina. They mainly were staying at the Masjid learning Quran and Sunnah. Ashab Al Suffah are poor and needy people in Madina. Its said that some of they spend the night with no food to eat.
The People of Suffah went to the Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) asking him to make Dua’a for them and ask Allah to provide them of his sustenance so they become sufficient and not in need of others.
Then Allah (swt) revealed the following Aya:
(27) And if Allah had extended [excessively] provision for His servants, they would have committed tyranny throughout the earth. But He sends [it] down in an amount which He wills. Indeed He is, of His servants, Acquainted and Seeing.
